Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 13th & 14th & 15th, 2007

2007 Doris Warren Memorial

Once again, we had a great time shooting at those elusive little Skeets. Triple B Clays hosted the event on July 13th thru the 15th and provided a great time for all. Over the course of the weekend, we shot 500 targets each and counted 78 competitors attempting to “Blow em up.” The weather was some what intense, over 90 degrees, and the humidity was elevated. There were a few clouds in the sky but for most part the sky was clear. The shoot included a scrumptious lunch on Saturday and Sunday, prepared by the Lil Café located on the range facilities.
On Friday, the double event took place with four shooters, Carl Booher, Harold Jeffers, Ted Church and Dan Davidson managing to break 97 targets out of the 100. The shoot-off took place on Saturday and Bubba prevailed with Harold chasing him at his coat tails. David Gin and Dan Janowicz had an additional shoot-off on Saturday with David kicking butt since Dan didn't show. David said Dan was too scared to face him. Several other shooters managed to crush the majority of the orange disks and those scores are on the above downloadable sheets.
Saturday's first event was the 28 gauge and when the dust settled Bill Page took the marbles for the Gun Champion with the only 100 straight. Carl Booher faced off with John Kerchinski, Jeff Lerma, David Lee and Jordon Liao with 98s. Carl walked away with Champion Runner up and John took AA1, Jeff took A1. David took B1 and Jordon grabbed C1.
The 12 gauge went off without a hitch. Steen Thompsen had a clean sweep managing a hundy, which placed him as Gun Champion. Bill Page, Lee Morris and Carl Booher tied for Champion Runner-up with 99s. When the smoke cleared, Bill took Champion Runner-up, Lee got AA1 and Carl took AA2.
Sunday was marvelous and the squirt gun started the morning off. Carl Booher shot a nice 99 and took the Gun Champ outright. Steve Claunch and Ken Burns crushed 98 targets and shot-off for the Champion Runner up. Steve managed to break more than Ken and took Runner-up.
Three 100s were acquired by in the 20 gauge; Steve Claunch, Harold Jeffers and John Kerchinski. Harold won the shoot-off, making him the 20 gauge Champion. Steve earned Runner-up Champion and John took AA1.
We had a marvelous time and we enjoyed the good company of our friends, which the game of Skeet always provides.
