SUBJ: Monthly Registered Targets
We have experienced a notification problem when monthly targets have been "cancelled" and with getting shoot reports within 15 days after the end of the month. In an effort to help our clubs in this reporting process, monthly registered targets not reported within the 15 day timeframe after months end will automatically be cancelled.
This process eliminates the need for clubs to notify us when monthly registered targets have not been shot.
NOTE: This does not negate the requirement to report monthly targets 15 days after the month end or late fee assessments for reports received after the 15-day reporting period. (See Page 32, II-H-2-a of your 2006 rule book for more information.)
If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Club Administrator Amber Schwarz at aschwarz@nssa-nsca.com or 210/688-3371, Ext. 125.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Carl Hensch
NSSA Director
Update to Membership
As those of you know who attended either the Sporting Clays Nationals in September or the World Skeet Shoot in October in San Antonio, there has been a dramatic amount of new building and development this year in the area of our National Shooting Complex property. We are now effectively surrounded on all sides by new development and there is even a concrete sidewalk coming right to our front gate on Roft Road!
Roft Road has been home to our organization since 1973, and we are very proud of the shooting facility, Museum and HDQ operation we have developed there over the years. While we do not want to leave our current location, we knew that it was inevitable..... sooner or later we would have to face the issue of finding a new home. To date, we have not listed our property for sale nor have we been actively pursuing selling our land, but we have had several people who expressed casual interest to us during the summer. Last week we received a substantial written offer to purchase our property, so we must now face the difficult question about our future, attempting to make the best decision for our organization and our members...to sell & relocate, or not to sell at this time?
The NSSA Executive Committee and the NSCA Executive Council have met and feel it is in the best interest of our organization to pursue contract negotiations with this party now to see if we can reach a contract. We know the longer we stay where we are, we will be faced with challenges to our zoning, our taxes and the like. Rest assured, in order to be acceptable to us, any contract we negotiate will include contingencies for enough time to find an acceptable site for our new home grounds, as well as allow us enough time to build out the new site and relocate there.
There are many details to be looked into and a lot of work to be done in the near future. Thankfully, we have had our Long Range Planning Committee looking into various aspects of this since last February, so we do have a leg up on some of these tasks and issues. We will proceed as soon as possible with our attorneys and the land developer to attempt to get to contract, and will keep you updated whenever we have substantial progress to report or any "new news” to share. In the meantime, the business of the NSSA and NSCA goes on at Roft Road as normal with all of our day-to-day activities, our year-end processing and preparation for the new target year!
